Himalayan Hatha Yoga and Prana Kriya Yoga Certified,

Certified Posture Specialist

I trained intensively in Southern India in the practice of Himalayan Hatha Yoga and Prana Kriya Yoga under the instruction of Yogi Ashokananda. There I also received instruction in traditional Ayurvedic diet, philosophy, and breathing. Through this training and subsequent study, I received my HHY teaching license through Yoga Alliance Professionals.

I have professional experience providing physical therapy rehabilitation services to patients in both hospital and clinical settings. My formal education and training in body mechanics, injury and disease allows me to assess body inefficiencies and recommend preventive and corrective postural treatments. I am a Certified Posture Specialist through the National Posture Institute.

As a Buddhist practitioner for over 17 years I provide people with a unique insight into authentic spiritual connection and practices. My experience as both student and practitioner inform me in effectively integrating both modern and timeless health and well-being practices.

“Renata is a superbly trained, intuitive, and gifted teacher of Himalayan Hatha Yoga. She specializes in very small group practice, no more than three people, in the studio or online, which allows for nuanced observation of asanas and breath work. I came to her with a long-standing desire to start yoga but afraid because of benign vertigo. Renata and I worked slowly and gently for six months so that my body could ease into and trust the various movements. She has offered me the gift of flexibility and strength, the gift of my own empowerment, and the gift of transforming grace and peace.”

“It was such a pleasure working with Renata as she was a great asset to my clinical experience in the field of therapy. She always incorporates a holistic approach to wellness during her services and demonstrates extensive knowledge on how to properly assist myself and our clients with physical movements in developing the strength, postural improvements, and flexibility required for participating in everyday activities. There are times I would come to her when I was facing mental pressures from my work demands, and she has successfully guided me through mindfulness techniques I still use until this day to help me relax, stay focused, and reawaken my inspiration to help others. I have always appreciated her natural disposition in living a healthy lifestyle, which helps her be an effective role model and mentor for many.”

"I highly recommend this yoga course because the practices made me feel rejuvenated. The instructor makes this class easy to follow, and it fits all skill levels while providing muscle education. I would definitely recommend taking this course."

~ Cara B., Professor of Physical Therapy

"Renata is a dynamic and knowledgeable teacher who is genuinely invested in her students’ wellbeing.  She is particularly attentive to any injuries or conditions that limit mobility or cause pain, and she offers adjustments and modifications accordingly. Since I have chronic back pain and scoliosis, I was delighted to find a teacher who combines an authentic transmission of eastern philosophy/practice for the body and mind with scientific knowledge and expertise in western medicine.  Additionally, Renata’s robust daily meditation practice of over 15 years makes her an authentic guide, who can assist you with creating habits that will improve your quality of life. I found the pranayama breathing techniques particularly helpful, and left class reinvigorated, revitalized, and ready for action. I really recommend working with her regardless of your level. Class with Renata is both fun and challenging, and sure to leave you feeling better than before you came in!"
